We spend much of our days in contact with chairs.They support the body, shape posture, and quietly remain beside us through everyday routines. At the same time, chairs are objects that quickly lose their place once they can no longer support the body as expected.
The Wrapping Chair series begins with these discarded chairs. By wrapping and hardening them, the familiar structure of seating is transformed into something between object and presence. Unlike ordinary chairs designed for comfort and efficiency, these works do not allow the body to settle passively. The body reacts to unfamiliar curves and uneven surfaces, continuously adjusting itself in response to the object.
Wrapping Chair Y&G is made from a discarded chair wrapped in plastic film, resin, and FRP.
